First Grade Teacher
The Emerson Waldorf School is seeking a first-grade teacher to join our grade school faculty. We have an exceptional Early Childhood- 12th grade faculty and staff who are committed to collaboration, innovation, Waldorf education and anthroposophy. Faculty members joining our school are supported by a grade school pedagogical support teacher, professional development opportunities, a student support team, and an administrative team that includes a grade school coordinator.
We welcome all applications, but our ideal candidate is a Waldorf-trained class teacher with experience working in the classroom and a deep understanding of Waldorf pedagogy. The candidate must be able to work with diverse learning needs. A college degree is necessary, and post-graduate studies, including Waldorf teacher training, are preferred.
Salary and Benefits: This is a salaried, full-time, year-round position. The salary range is commensurate with experience. The benefits package includes medical insurance. Tuition remission is provided for full-time faculty/staff children.

FULL-TIME Middle School/High School Math Teacher
We are seeking a math teacher to join our middle and high school math department. The position would begin July 1, 2024.
Once hired, the candidate will join the math department and assist in developing and implementing the math curriculum for 6th through 12th grade. Our current model includes year-long skill-building classes and discovery-based main lesson intensives. This candidate should expect to develop their classroom curriculum in collaboration with other colleagues in the math department.

Early Childhood Teacher
The Emerson Waldorf School in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to join our dedicated faculty for the 2024-25 school year.
We are looking for an Early childhood teacher who understands Waldorf pedagogy and an anthroposophical understanding of child development. We desire someone committed to collaborating with colleagues to create an educational environment aligned with our program goals and school values. An enthusiasm for outdoor learning is essential.
This is a full-time position. Responsibilities include creating a nurturing environment to support the young child's healthy development, carrying out classroom and program activities, communicating and partnering with parents, and attending faculty meetings.

Ealry Childhood Aftercare Provider
The Emerson Waldorf School has an immediate opening for an Early Childhood Aftercare Provider.
The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in Waldorf education and a desire to work with a team of experienced early childhood educators. Our mixed-aged classes serve children ages 3 - 6. The aftercare provider cares for the children who attend school in the afternoons. This candidate has experience and enthusiasm for working with young children and must be able to work independently. The lead teachers will provide guidance and oversight for the aftercare provider’s work with the children in the classroom and outdoor space. Some responsibilities include creating a warm and welcoming environment for the children to rest, assisting the children with self-care, and overseeing outdoor play.
This is a part-time, hourly position from 11:30 - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday, from January 2024 through mid-June.

eurythmy teachers
EWS has a thriving K-12th grade eurythmy program, a dedicated eurythmy room with a sprung floor, a vibrant student body, supportive colleagues, and a culture where Eurythmy is well-respected.

We are seeking an experienced eurythmy teacher who has demonstrated success in teaching a variety of grade levels and are interested in joining the Emerson Waldorf School in our efforts toward school innovation in the areas of diversity and equity, ready to help reimagine our Waldorf school to create a more inclusive and equitable school program and environment. Such individuals will model artistry, dynamism, groundedness, flexibility, empathy, initiative, and great collaborative skills. The candidate should demonstrate proficiency and comfort with classroom management as well as the imagination and artistry necessary for eurythmic work.
Full-time responsibilities include (note: responsibilities for guest eurythmy teachers would be decided on a case-by-case basis):
Teach a full-time eurythmy curriculum (16 periods) to a variety of grades (to be determined): kindergarten, lower grades, middle school, high school.
Offer performances of student work and contribute to festivals/plays
Attend scheduled meetings
Collaborate with student support services and colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and colleagues
Qualifications:
Pedagogical training and a eurythmy diploma recognized by the Goetheanum
Successful experience teaching different age groups
Commitment to Waldorf principles and philosophy
